Arlington HD SYSTEM Nit letting parents of SN Students REgister for 1-A STatus

Just to let you all know that direct caregivers of students with chronic health conditions, intellectual and developmental disabilities are now able on the VDH WEBSITE to register as a frontline Healthcare worker in Status 1-A status fir a Covid Vaccine. To do so you need to go to your local health district web site to do the survey for Healthcare Workers.

However the Arlington Health DIstrict has not recalibrated its technical system to enable an individual parent or grandparent to register!!! Our district had different questions that seemingly were more easy to adapt to an individual. Also, I was told that if there is a spouse that when I as the main contact is called my spouse will also get an appointment. THis is very important to get up and running for all eligible students’ parents as soon as possibke

Someone called the Fairfax health department about this category and they were told that they would be put in the back of the line behind 1b people who already signed up. The 1a status wouldn't get them the vaccine any sooner. I don't know why they bothered with this new category in that case, since all of Va is in 1b.
