non-toxic tableware (ie no lead, not made in china etc...)

does anyone worry about this WRT your tableware. does anyone know where you can buy plates etc that are definitely safe or safer?

if it's baked ceramic, it should be ok, right?

Go to Williams Sonoma, Crate and Barrel, Bed, Bath, and Beyond and look on the backs of plates to see their origin. Its hard to find this info on the web.

plates and eating utensils are not made with lead, not unless they are from george washington's era

actually, i think that there are plates from the 20th century that have lead-based pigments in them.

No, lead does not disappear at high heat.
