Does anyone have kids there now? Do you like it? I feel like the look of the place has gone downhill since I toured last year. Any thoughts? Planning to maybe send my 3 year old this summer. |
I live in FCC and I only hear great things. My kids are at Easterseals but St Joe’s, Columbia Baptist and ES are the ones most people I know have gone to. |
I don't understand what you mean by the "look of the place has gone downhill" especially considering no one has been allowed inside in the past year except teachers and children due to COVID constraints. It looks exactly the same on the outside. |
I'm also very confused about your comment about "the look of the place." Yes, it's an older building, but it's very well maintained and we've seen only improvements in the past five years our children have gone there. It's a wonderful school. |
The exterior seemed like it needed a clean up. Dead plants, broken bench, tipped over statues. I was hoping this was just because it’s winter and not because of any other changes |
What a bizarre post. Plants go dormant in the winter. Little kids run around and knock things over - hell, my kid runs between the bushes and knocks things over all the time. I don't pay attention to the seating, so I have no idea if the bench is broken or not. |
PP here, my husband just told me not to be snarky (too late, sorry!) and said that based on the fact that they had to limit class sizes due to the pandemic and are therefore not making as much money as they would in a normal year, landscaping and exterior cosmetic stuff are probably a really low priority, but really neither of us has noticed any issues around either of those things. I can assure you that the children are very well taken care of and have a great time. |
OP here, and I really appreciate the updated comment. I wasn't trying to be snarky either. I'm having some remorse about the in home that we chose at the beginning of the pandemic but now we are stuck without other options (it's a safe space, just not as much learning or outdoor play as I would like) I'm just trying to make sure my next choice won't leave me lying awake with mommy guilt. Actually, the slightly snarky posts made me feel better about St Joes - a fiercely defended preschool must be worth it ![]() |
