What is up with LCPS

Anonymous
Members of the LCPS School Board are polling parents on Facebook. Of course the "open with no mask" crowd is flooding their page saying exactly that. What is with polling on Facebook? They are debating "if" schools open next school year 5 days a week... This just comes across as very unprofessional and clearly no serious planning if next school year is already looking this wishy washy. Icing on the cake being making decisions thanks to Facebook.

Ian is (rightfully) trying to gauge how many familes plan to unenroll if the system is not 5 days. It will affect how much money they get from the state. Their funding is based on "membership" (the amount of students enrolled.)

Can you link? I’m not on the group and I’d like to give my two cents?

I absolutely plan on unenrolling if there is not school 5 days a week next year. I'd like to be polled.

Its Ian Serotkin's School Board public facebook page. You don't need to be in any group.

I'm assuming that no finite decisions will be made by crowd sourcing. Come on OP that's ridiculous. I appreciate the means to obtain parent feedback about the misery. It's a good thing.

OP - I am scanning and don't see a lot of anti maskers. But a ton of 5 days a weekers. Seems reasonable.

I just went and looked. OP you are completely off base. The question is “ If you unenrolled your student(s) from LCPS this year: Assuming LCPS is back to 5 days a week in-person instruction this fall, do you plan on re-enrolling for Fall 2021?”

I’ve been warning but y’all laugh.

We’re not doing 5 days. Mondays will remain asynchronous moving forward. Accept reality. For your health the sooner the better.

The fact that he says ASSUMING IT IS means... they are assuming it is. And absolutely nobody thinks asynchronous Monday remains. You are trolling to rile people up.

All those people saying they're going to enroll in private if LCPS doesn't open 5 days for everyone... where do they think they're going to go?! Private schools are enrolling now and they aren't going to have many spots, because hardly anyone who currently has a spot is going to give it up. Spring is way too late to decide.

They aren’t. They are just saying that because they believe they will “scare” the board into opening 5 days a week if they think all those parents will go private. They have no intention. They would have had applications in already.

Go away troll. VDOE is not going to continue to provide waivers for that, which is what is required right now to count that as a school day.
