Electric unicycles

I saw a guy riding down the road on one today and it looked so cool...

Do you own one? How easy are they to ride? How easy would they be to ride for a petite, 50+ female that's not strong or athletic (no weight issues--I'm just a wimp).

Are they practical for a short commute (3 miles) that wouldn't take major roads?

Are they allowed on trails and how do they do on surfaces that aren't super smooth?

How do they do in bad weather?

How durable/reliable are they?

It sounds like a good way to break every bone in your body.

+1, these things were clearly designed by a cabal of orthopedic doctors.

Can I ask why not a bicycle? The one-wheelers just seem so much more dangerous. And a bike will get you 3 miles easily.

Bikes are severely lacking in the “LOOK AT ME!” factor that electric unicycle users crave.
