For those who have children with autism - immunization was ? - did this happen after age 4 shots?

I am trying to learn more- but my kids so far are not autistic- I understand the top ingredient was removed- but I still read on boards that the immunization shots cause issues. So far both kids are ages 2 and 4 are aok. Is there a concern going forward? I'd rather be paranoid than ignorant.

thanks again

Oh God -- vaccines do not cause autism. Period. Don't listen to the hoo-hoo conspiracy theorists. The diseases we vaccinate our children against cause serious illness and death. Thats what you should be concerned about.

I think that it is reasonable to worry about vaccines if you have a genetic susceptibility to autism spectrum disorders. And until we know exactly what causes autism, it is fair to proceed cautiously but without endangering the rest of the community.

My older DC has ASD. I personally think this was a combination of genetics (a close blood relative has symptoms of Asperger's), the toxins in the environment, medical issues, and the very negative reaction he had to his 15 mo. shots. I don't think it was the shots itself that triggered his issues, but how his body reacted.

My younger DC doesn't have any of the symptoms or signs of ASD at 16 mos, but I know I won't be completely relieved till she turns 4. I have heard of cases where the symptoms don't appear till 3 or 4, though nothing first-hand.
