If you took zofran for morning sickness, how soon did you feel better and how better did you feel?

I have just started to take it and I suppose I was hoping for a miracle but I am still vomiting...... how soon did you start to feel better? Did you get to no vomiting or just less? For a last week or so, I typically vomit more than a dozen times a day and just cannot function at all right now.

Zofran didn't take away my nausea or vomiting completely, it just abated it some. I still felt awful 24/7 for many months... it got a little better around month 5 or 6 but I was pretty sick until delivery. (I even puked all through labor & during my c-section... fun!)

I do think the zofran helped my appetite--after I started taking it, I started eating better and finally started to gain weight instead of losing weight.

I only took the zofran for a few weeks, since I wanted to limit the baby's exposure to the drug as much as I could.

Good luck!!!

I took zofran once a day, most days week 6 through delivery at 38 weeks (the dosage was more but they were so dang expensive). I found that the zofran would usually (not always) buy me a few hours of less nausea and vomitting, therefore, I would try to time it with whatever I REALLY needed to accomplish that day. Like the PP, it did allow me to eat a little better and I was able to stop losing weight (although, I only gained twelve pounds total).

Long story short, it did not cure the problem completely but I certainly depended on it for a small amount of relief!

I proabably stopped taking it around week 16. For me, it would help but not eliminate all of the nausea or vomitting. For 2 of my pregnancies, I missed about 1.5 months of work while going through it. Thank goodness I work at a very undertanding office.

I started taking it around week 8 and continued until week 16 then weened off. I would say it took me about 4 days to notice a big difference. It didn't take away the nausea but it helped and it REALLY helped with the vomiting. I would vomit about 10 times before and some days NEVER when taking it. I did take three a day, eight hours apart, though.

I really feel for you and hope you get some relief soon.

I was hoping Zofran would be my savior after reading so many glowing reviews about it online.......I swear it did nothing for me......I think it's supposed to help more with the actual vomiting and helping to curb that as opposed to dissapating the nauseous feelings. I was feeling incredibly nauuseous all day but only hurling about 4-5 times a day...mostly just bile.

Thank god, the severe nausea only lasted for 2-3 weeks and then it subsided to a more tolerable level of nauseau for 2 weeks and than it completely disappeared

You might have hyperemesis. I took Zofran from about 6 weeks until the end for both of my pregnancies. Like you I was vomitting sometimes up to 15 times a day and was not able to function. The zofran helped some but was certainly not a cure. I would get very dehydrated and have to go the emergency room every couple of weeks for IVs. If your situation does not improve you might ask you doctor about the Zofran pump with I understand has much better results. Also if you get really bad, the ER will give you Zofran intravenously which also seemed to work a lot better for me that the pills. Around 16 weeks I started to get a little better and the Zofran seemed to help much more.

Okay, after reading this I will stop complaining about feeling nauseated all the time. I can't imagine puking as much as PPs have!
