Our living room layout is less than idea and the most logical place for console/tv is where it would partially be in front of some windows. How bad of an idea is this? Aesthetically, I feel like I won’t like it but will it also be bothersome for tv viewing? |
No. This is a bad, bad idea. Find another option. |
I think it will look really tacky. Can you mount it in a wall or get a smaller tv? |
Agree it will look bad and i think jt would be hard to watch tv if it was daytime unless you had blackout curtains or something . |
no |
OP, do you mean the tv is facing the window? It's worse when people can see the tv on and see what you're watching. Far worse. We have a large tv against a window. From the outside of the house it's not clear what it is, just looks like an obstruction of some sort. It partially blocks our view, inside, from looking out that particular window. But no big deal. And no problem with picture quality. |
It will look terrible. |
If there are truly no other options, ups could do something like this: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/93/8e/19/938e1931792596a1be72f153869aba19.jpg
It’s not a huge tv, is it? |
What about your family room? |
Bad idea. You could mount it on the wall and pull it over when you need it. |
Yeah? Or the basement rec room? Or what about the upstairs playroom? ![]() |
We had a TV in front of the windows in an apartment we lived in, there really was no other place. There were two windows and we placed the tv in between, and the tv went over the windows evenly on each side. We hung drapes, so the TV was framed with them even when they were open so the tv seemed less obtrusive than when it was framed by light. If we were watching tv during the day we could pull the drapes to block the light. There were enough other windows that the room didn’t seem dark if they were closed. I thought I would hate it, but in practice didn’t mind it at all. |
