Teachers -- my kids are home and it's been not great but they've sort of hobbled along. My son is in 1st and is taking the iready and let's just say he's well...not taking it. Either refusing or clicking like crazy and rushing through.
My question is what happens now? How do you all use these tests because I can't make heads or tails of what or how they would be useful under these circumstances. Also -- would I be that annoying parent if I emailed the teacher and was like like Larlo rushed through this so I don't know how useful it's going to be for teaching him? |
You want teachers to tell you how to make your kid take a test? He's your kid in your house. |
The iReady times kids and tells teachers if they rush through.
You can always contact the teacher about it, of course. |
Dude. This is like a first grader. Probably a six year old. Back up and shut up if you don't have anything to say that's helpful. |
What is the point of i-ready? Is it for AAP screening? |
The teachers already know, OP. Plenty of kids take the test that way in person too. |
No, it's for all kids. |
I-Ready is not well-regarded by teachers. I would email the teacher and say that your kid was not engaged and rushed. The scores are going in a spreadsheet for the class and your kid’s teacher is not going to pay attention to them, unless forced to do so by some administrator, and then the teacher can say the kid rushed. It will alert the teacher if the kid clicked so quickly that he clearly wasn’t trying. Don’t worry about it at all. I had AAP kids in my room get lousy scores because they hurried to get to the “game” part. |
