| Just what NOVA needs another mediocre lacrosse club. They will meet the same fate as 3da |
| Where do you see that True is forming in Virginia? Its web page has a lot of exotic lacrosse locations like Idaho and Nebraska (not kidding) but not Virginia. |
| I haven’t seen anything about Virginia, but isn’t part of their model to roll up less competitive clubs into one? Might be a good thing to thin things out. |
| Official announcement soon |
| The dude sent a calendar invite to 625 people on his email list, not sure where he got my info from, as we have never signed up for any NOVA select events or tryouts. Planning a zoom call to announce the way ahead, a 625 person zoom call is just what we need! |
| It will be the same national program better events proven system coaching etc. in the end it will be 5x more money for a rotating pool of college coaches. The teams will not pull any kids from Madlax or VLC and still be forced to play at aloha events based on the skill level |
Well congrats on rushing to DCUM to post about it, you took a timeout from talking sh*t about other youth lacrosse programs to do this. Big day for you! |
| Someone has some new information about club lacrosse in the area and posts here about it? Isn’t that the point of DCUM lacrosse thread?? |
| Good news for them, as soon as they post their first lost in Tourney Machine they will be ranked in the Top 20 by US Club Lacrosse. |

True Lacrosse is pleased to announce its partnership with Nova Select to form the first ever True Lacrosse Virginia Program! Since its founding in 2008, True Lacrosse has grown to become the nation's leader in training and developing lacrosse players, helping thousands of players continue their careers in college and equipping young people of all ages with the fundamentals and foundations to play the game for years to come.
Through this partnership, players in the Northern Virginia area will have access to and benefit from all of the resources, infrastructure, and programming True Lacrosse offers its players. Through its longstanding place in the game, True Lacrosse has been able to attract and retain top coaches, professionals who are experienced, knowledgeable and who have excellent rapport with young people. The True Lacrosse experience is rooted in the ample training hours it provides: from regular practices to position-specific training to a plethora of other training opportunities, True Lacrosse players get more training hours than any club in the area. Additionally, True Lacrosse teams compete in top tournaments to provide our players with exposure to other competitive teams and more recruiting opportunities. Finally, if a college lacrosse career is a player's goal, True Lacrosse has a staff dedicated to guiding players through the recruiting process to help the player find a school where he or she will be happy, challenged, and ultimately successful on the field, in the classroom, and in the community. Leading True Lacrosse Virginia will be Matt Brigham, assistant men's lacrosse coach at Marymount University. Kevin Totaro, True Lacrosse Territory Manager (MD, VA), will also help lead True Virginia. We invite all interested players and parents to learn more about our program in an informational Zoom meeting tonight, January 21st at 8:00 pm EST. See below for the Zoom meeting details. We hope to see you tonight on the call! Let me be the first to welcome you to the True Family! True on 2! True Lacrosse is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting. | Wow I cannot believe a long established and top elite club in the area like. NOVA select would sell to a large national chain. I guess the are now the top team in the area. |
Land Scape is changing and it is becoming more and more about the money! |
| They announced tryouts in Feb will they pull any players away from top local clubs? |
there does not appear to be any reason why this would happen |
I wouldn't describe NOVA as long standing or elite. The four local clubs that I would describe that way are VLC, NextLevel, BLC (becoming DCE in 8th grade) and MadLax. There is a steady stream of players leaving all four programs, but they tend to go to one of the other three. It is hard to envision the good players going to True. |
