FB marketplace- what am I doing wrong?

90% of my marketplace interactions when I’m selling:
Person: Is this available?
Me (under 1 minute later) yes it’s available anytime.

And then I never hear back. Did I not say enough? Should I follow back up? Why do people ask if it’s available nonstop and then don’t answer? I feel like this is something that Facebook could easily fix. 10 bogus messages and you get out on a pause. Same with no shows. No payments/thieves should get suspended for a month or so.

Also, when I’m selling something super popular, I wish there was a feature that you could begin- fastest pickup preferred. I get dozens of people wanting to meet days from now and I want to be interacting with someone who can meet within a few hours. And they all start fighting with me that they deserve it for messaging me

The “is this available” is a prompt that FB makes you use to initiate interaction with the seller. I don’t know why they’re not replying but they may be asking many sellers about various products.

To your second point, you can say “priority to first pick up”

I would post " I do not respond to Is this Available" in your spiel about what you are selling. I had the same problem as you. Now I write this and I do not respond unless I can tell the buyer has written something themselves and is interested.

Facebook needs to change. And get rid of the shipping stuff. No I don’t want to ship
