| Looking for recommendation for knowledgeable and trustworthy mechanic to address a growing list of issues I have been deferring on my older model Chevy Suburban. Preferably convenient to NW DC. |

Auto Tech Services, just north of Trinidad. They used to be in Adams Morgan for years, but their building was bought for condos.
Excellent pricing, reliable/honest work. You can save money by acquiring parts yourself and bringing/shipping to their garage. For example, I needed to replace a suspension system on a 1999 Subaru and got a great deal online for shocks/struts/springs. Shipping it directly to them and they installed it for like $600. If they charged you $600 just for *installing* shocks and struts, then they bent you over and didn’t even use lube! That’s a 2-3 hour job, tops, even if they had to pull the interior trim to get to the rear shock tower bolts. You just paid $200-$300 an hour for labor, when the standard labor rate is $100-$120. |
Yep. I’m LMAO. |

Nebel Street Automotive in Rockville.
Honest and great. We've been using them for 10+ years. |
| Distad's on Capitol Hill is great - the most trustworthy mechanics in town. |
So... do you have a recommendation? Are you available for hire? Halp. |
I have enough work to keep me busy 24/7/rest of my life if I didn’t force myself to take time off. I will literally never run out of work. Plus, I don’t think jeff wants me using his site for getting business without him getting a cut, and I hate sharing. But I’d recommend Kaufman’s in north Bethesda. Good shop. A competitor of mine, but the truth is, there’s so much work out there that competition doesn’t really matter. |
