Arlington Tech HS?

Hi - I was hoping to gain some feedback from parents of students currently attending Arlington Tech High School. I searched the archives but could only find info from two years ago. Our 8th grader has fairly severe social anxiety and is terrified of the larger neighborhood high schools (we are zoned for W&L). She has a 504 plan addressing her anxiety and Attention Deficit Disorder. She was immediately drawn to the smaller cohort size at AT, in addition to their program offerings. She does not seem concerned about the Project Based Learning model as she would have classes with all the same kids, therefore feeling more comfortable. I'd love to hear your kiddo's experience there - whether good or bad!
Thanks!

I would apply and then spend time considering when you hear if you are in. The past few years there were more applications than spots so it is not a given at all that you will get one. I'd apply to Arlington Tech and HB and see where you get a spot. If you get one, they give you opportunities to learn more and decide if it's a fit (not sure how they will do it with Covid but normally they have kids spend a day shadowing a current 9th grader).

In short, don't overthink because there isn't a high chance your child will get a spot.
