Misoprostol for "thick uterine lining" after miscarriage

Anonymous
I just had my follow up appointment after a miscarriage and the OB who saw me today (not my usual OB) said my lining looked thick and handed me 2 misoprostol pills to insert tonight and had me schedule a follow up for next week. It all seemed pretty casual. I asked if this was going to be like my experience 3 weeks ago, with cramping and heavy bleeding and he said no, that it would be more like a regular period. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I'm half inclined to wait and book an appointment with my regular doc in a couple of weeks when she's back, but I'd also rather just get things over with if this is standard medical procedure. He didn't mention seeing specifically any products of conception, just that my lining looked thick.

OP here again, in case anyone ever wants to reference this. I ended up taking the pills that night and nothing happened! Cramped and spotted a bit, but nothing major. I feel totally fine/normal, physically, today. Called the doc this morning (36 hours later) who basically just said come back in a week and we'll see. I'm hoping that my next period accomplishes what the misoprostol was supposed to do.

I don’t know the answer to your question but I wanted to say I’m sorry for your loss and that waiting for a miscarriage to resolve is hard. I used misoprostol to induce a missed miscarriage and then had to do a follow up then another round of misoprostol and follow up again so I know it’s not easy waiting for it to be resolved.
