Any suggestions?
Thank you in advance. |
| Around here? Sorry, there's no such thing as a good Puerto Rican restaurant in this area (or even a bad one). I know one of the owners of Mio Restaurant on Vermont Ave. is from PR and they occasionally have Puerto Rican-inspired dishes, but their menu is sort of creative Pan-Latino cuisine. You're not going to find a good mofongo, or rice and beans, or alcapurrias, or quesitos, etc. around here. |

PP again. Okay, I found this thread on chowhound. If you're desperate enough, you may want to try one of the places mentioned:

I am Puerto Rican and can tell you there isn't any.
Banana Cafe serves very greasy food. The alcapurrias at Cafe SAlsa in Alexandria tasted good but not like alcapurrias. I thank God every day my mom put so much effort in teaching me how to cook Puerto Rican meals, otherwise I'd be craving the food all the time. One thing that works in a bind is Cuban food. The Cuban Corner in Rockville at least makes really good tostones and pork. |
