When push came to shove, all the closed roads, barriers, and other crap we've endured since 9/11 proved to be basically worthless security theater.

Blocks closed, fences put up, barriers in place, major routes no longer available and for what? A Capitol that got occupied by a bunch of idiots.

This wasn't a physical barrier failure. It was a police failure. Specifically, Capitol Police. Who planned for a completely different type of event.
