Any Sibling and Legacy Families willing to post what school their DC got into and for what grade?

If there are any sibling families out there, could you please post where your DC got accepted and for what grade? Understand if too personal, but still, can't help but ask...

I'm sorry to hear that. If I may ask, though, how do you know already? Does GDS give early notice to sibling families of their admit decision as a matter of course?

We are at GDS and I know one family who was called when a sib was a not admit. This was last year. I don't know if they make calls for affirmative.

If you are a GDS family waiting on a sibling application why don't you just ask the admissions people when they will let you know?

It just seems that unless the sibling has attempted arson or something, why deny them admission? I would think that it would create a bad feeling between the family and the school. And I say this as a person whose DC does not have. Sib and is not a legacy!

Most qualified sibs get in eventually -- just not in pre-K. Numbers are small, you want a balanced class (gender, race, personality) and to have some new families there from the beginning. Families with one or more kids enrolled are already acculturated to the school. If the AD is happy with the preschool placement why not let the sib stay put and admit them in K? But it makes sense to tell these families up front what you're doing so they aren't blind-sided and alienated by a rejection letter.

Our sibling child was admitted last year for K. We did not receive an early notice. Notification came via mail the Saturday that everyone else was receiving decisions.

siblings and legacies at my DC school get a call before letters go out if they are not admitted, otherwise they get the letter with everyone else.
