Children’s House Montessori Arlington

My eldest two went to Little Ambassadors which was great. But I’m considering enrolling my youngest in a Montessori school after seeing how great Montessori was for my niece. I’m confused over the reviews for Children’s House Montessori. People either seem to love or hate the principal and I’m not exactly sure why. Would love to hear about your experiences with that school and whether you would recommend other Montessori schools as an alternative.

We actually went to both schools. Started out at CHMS and ended up at LAA. I think both are good places! The issue with CHMS is that the Director is more rigid, she’s not as flexible but the school is well run with good teachers. LAA is just amazing for working parents. I do feel if my child had stayed at CHMS, he would have been more academically advanced. But it’s preschool!!!

I have a child in 4th, and I know a lot of people who went to LAA. Everyone loves that place, and the kids are all well prepared for K.

LAA is more flexible with a kinder/gentler director. CHM is the strictest kind of Montessori with a rigid/inflexible director. Very different schools, but each might be good depending on your child’s personality and your goals/desires.

If you have geographic flexibility, maybe consider McLean Montessori and Brooksfield School, which are on Kirby Rd just east/west of Old Dominion. So not far from north Arlington.
