What kind of flats with slim pants?

What kind of flats look good with slim pants? I can't run around with those strappy cage heels and a toddler. Any suggestions are appreciated, especially for reasonably priced shoes... stylish, but comfy, I'll be going to the playground after all as well

(As I'm contemplating this I saw of course another thread saying skinny pants are out... )
