Have DD attend office hours. This shows her motivation and that she’s interested in and engaged with the material. It also gives her an opportunity to discuss her other interests and activities, setting the stage for the teacher to have some things to talk about in the letter. When I was a junior, I had a study hall period where I also would help the supervising teacher (who was my English teacher) organize books, do simple research etc. That came in handy when it came time to write the letter. If nothing else, it shows initiative. Maybe your DD can ask her teachers about an opportunity like this. Good luck !
