Is Farrow and Ball worth it?

I hear such good things about it but is expensive paint worth the price?

Get yourself a sample pot of FB and a sample pot of BM in a similar color (Laurel Bern’s blog has charts showing close equivalents). Have someone else paint two sample swatches on the wall without telling you which is which. Then pick the one you like best.

I don’t know but Sherwin Williams will make a fabrication from a F and B swatch. It was much cheaper and looks great on my walls.

Just get the best Benjamin Moore you can afford. They last and are scrubable.

This is good advice. I have SW (I think not the nice kind) in my house now painted by the seller and while it looks fine, it isn’t as easy to clean as the rooms I painted myself with BM (natura, flat). I suspect there are other formulations of SW that are better, the point is imo it’s worth paying for easy cleaning especially if you like a flat finish as I do and you should lol.

I'm convinced of the quality of Benjamin Moore, which I have throughout my house in a 10-year-old paint job that has held up beautifully.

But for those who have had F&B colors copied in BM, can you report on your experience? Did the copy capture the subtleties you were hoping for?

I tried this...they just could not get the color right even with multiple tries.

We have painted F&B, B&M and SW in our house. I honestly can't tell any difference between any of them. I would just pick the color/shade which you like from either one of them. I was really curious about F&B and we painted total of 3 rooms and honestly, while those colors are beautiful, I don't think anyone could tell me which room in my house is painted from which brand.

Same, except when I asked about FB, our long trusted painter laughed out loud, so we skipped it.

I was set on FB and picked out a gorgeous color for our dining room. Then I told DH how much the paint cost and his head exploded. So I googled “Benjamin Moore color match for Farrow and Ball Oval Room blue” and I came up with a great list of matches. We went with BM and I love it.
