Do hats and masks make your teens acne much worse?

He uses acne medicine, but he just seems sensitive to every type of material and he gets awful breakouts when he is wearing winter hates and masks a lot. Our dermatologist doesn't take insurance anymore so we haven't found a new one yet.

Sorry...winter hates not hates, but he still wants to wear the hat on cold days because luckily the acne doesn't bother him much. My only concern is he gets suck big breakouts he seems more at risk for infections-think mega big acne bumps.

No.

Masks - Masks are changed frequently and handwashed after each use. I don;t ;et them wear a mask for more than 1 hour. Kids are not going anywhere so they are not really wearing masks for too long.

Hats - Beanies are washed after every use. Kid is using a fungal shampoo (Nizoral) and that takes care of dandruff etc.

Hoodies - Hoodies are washed after every day.

Bed linen and pillowcases - He has 4 pillows on his bed and rotates them every day. Every week all bedsheets and pillow cases are washed.

Oh this is helpful. We wash masks every use. He wears them outside for dog walks, etc because our neighborhood has lots of people out walking. Hat are not all machine washable so that is part of my problem and I don't wash often. We aren't rotating pillows either and sheets are supposed to be washed weekly, but we end up doing every other week when things get busy.
