Just wondering how many preschools have reduced their class sizes due to COVID, and has this resulted in a tuition increase?
What was your previous class size and what is it now? Are they planning to continue with smaller classes next school year (2021-22)? Just trying to get a handle on if what is going on at our school is the “norm” or not. |
I think preschool class sizes have been mandated in MD.
My 4yo’s class used to be 15 kids and 2 teachers. Now I believe it’s 15 people total allowed in the room, so 13 kids and 2 teachers. I haven’t heard about that changing any time soon. The tuition hasn’t changed. |
It would result in an increase. Same bills and fewer people to pay them. |
Yes, our school cut class sizes to 10 from 15. Tuition increased accordingly. |
Reduced from 16 kids 2 teachers to 9 kids, 1 teacher. No change in tuition (church preschool). |
Ours has 15 kids total, but no more than 10 kids +2 adults in the classroom at one time (a lot of kids are part time, including my own). |
As required by the state of MD, dropped from 20 kids (3 teachers) to 13 kids (2 teachers.) No big tuition increase, but hours dropped (from 7-6 to 8:30-5) keeping the same price, and free lunch no longer included. |
My DD’s preschool class (4 and 5 year olds) went from 18 to 7. Tuition stayed the same they just broke up classes and lowered the number of teachers per class. This is a daycare/ preschool in DC. |
