Hi there. Planning to move to McLean in the spring, and have already applied to several preschools for my 2 year old to attend starting in the fall (when he’s 3). We are expecting another kiddo this summer, and will need daycare eventually after maternity and paternity leave (likely Jan 2022). I know it’s early to ask, but honestly I feel like it normal times you have to secure a spot in daycare the moment you get pregnant! So we are looking at what the best daycares are in McLean. Most of the ones I am familiar with are in the Tyson’s area, but we are looking for something closer inside the beltway. Any suggestions or good experiences anyone can share? |
If you want inside the beltway, you need to look in Falls Church or Arlington, or search for in-home daycares, or get a nanny. |
All these are in McLean (both by tax district and address), take 3-year olds, have some kind of before-/after-care options, and are inside the beltway: Brooksfield School on Kirby Country Day on Georgetown Pike McLean Montessori on Kirby Redeemer Lutheran Preschool in town Redeemer Lutheran Church also has after-school options, but I thinkn1stbgrade Lewinsville Montessori (1) on Great Falls St Westgate Childrens Center (1) on Great Falls St There might be 1-2 more on Georgetown Pike, including one Roman Catholic school. Immanuel Presbyterian and Trinity Methodist each have a preschool of some sort. So this list is not complete. (1) These 2 schools compete, have very different approaches, and are unrelated to each other, with separate playgrounds. They are in the same building, which is confusing to some people. Fairfax County owns the building and is the landlord for both schools. The rest of that complex is a County “senior living” facility, which also might be confusing to some. |
Lewinsville Montessori takes infants as young as 3 months if they have space. They are in McLean not far from downtown McLean.
Apply NOW (even if not sure it is what you want) because demand for infant care exceeds availability all over metro DC/MD/VA. . |
My kids have attended FAZ for years. It's a smaller daycare and very loving. Near the McLean metro on Old Meadow Road. |
