Expectant and Postpartum Moms
|
Hello,
I am taking pregnancy photos and need help with what to wear. I was thinking about taking a few outfits and a cool scarf. From your experience, or web browsing; 1. What did you wear at your photo shoot 2. What have you seen in others that you wish you wore 3. What not to wear Thanks a bunch. |

I think jeans and a solid colored fitted top always works. If you're comfortable with your body, I've seen some really beautiful pregnancy pictures with moms wearing a tight tube top over their breasts and their belly exposed.
Definitely no horizontal stripes!

I wore primarily solid colors as we ended up doing most of the photos black and white. Some of my outfits were:
Long pashimna wrapped around like a strapless dress. Black button down shirt opened to show belly and jeans Stretchy tank top and long skirt (all black) White lingerie type robe with long skirt and bra Black empire waist dress |

I would think this was joke except I have seen these photos occasionally on photographers websites.
I am so impressed with you lucky ladies who can actually be proud of how you look. I am sooooo not a cute pregnant lady with a fit, trim body and a little basketball sticking out front. I look like an elephant. It's disgusting and I run from the camera. I'm actually way more okay with it than I thought I'd be and I am not particularly depressed by my elephant-like appearance, but I certainly don't want photos of it!
Now please tell me you've had horrible morning sickness (I escaped that!) or something else to make up for hte fact that you got to be cute and pregnant!

To the 16:05 poster and from the OP,
Self-esteem and body image are a personal thing. My journey to get pregnant has been long and very hard, so I choose to celebrate it no matter what happens. I lost a dear friend last Christmas to HELLP and I cherish the few photos of her that I took while she was pregnant. I was able to present her family with those photos after her death and now her son will have pictures of his mother before his birth. Sorry to be so mushy and emotional. I think I am going home and take a few of myself after work! Even if you are the largest, widest, and most unsightly elephant in the herd, strut your stuff with style! Elephants rule the jungle! Let out your burps with a roar and make the Earth rattle as you walk! By the way . . . I am sure you are the fiercest elephant in the herd!

16:05 here. So sory about your friend! DH took a couple picture of me on a little mini-getaway we took at 28 weeks and while I do not intend to share those with anyone, I suppose someday I or someone else will be glad those pics exist. Good luck with your pics. I'm sure your glow will show through regardless of what you wear or don't wear! |
