DH bought me a Lululemon jacket for running. He bought it in my regular size, and it fits everywhere but the bust, where it’s super tight. I am pretty chesty (H-cup) and definitely see that most women who workout are - ahem - somewhat closer to the beginning of the alphabet.
My question is, if I size up, will it be too big everywhere else and still too tight in the chest? Am I just not the right build for the brand? Or might I find a fit by going up a size (or two)? I know in the Before Times I could have just tried on multiple sizes, but I don’t know if they’re letting people try stuff on, and I’d like to spend as little time in the store as possible. |
| I don’t think so. Everything is cut close and stretchy. I think it will be fine. Besides, it is just for running. |
| Lululemon runs small in my experience. I’m 5’3”, 110 lbs, usually wear a size 0 or 2 in most brands, and buy their pants/leggings in a size 4. |
| I always size up in Lululemon. Tops and bottoms. I have a define jacket in size 8 and I’m a 30D and usually a 2 or 4 in coats, 0-2 in shirts and dresses. I also have a Lulu scuba hoodie in 6, which fits well. I like my jackets a little looser for layering. My lulu bras are also 6. |
+1 I think it’s the one store that doesn’t do the US size trick. I wear a size 6 in their leggings and 4 in their tops. And I’m a size 2-4 pants and 2 top in e wry single other brand. |
And there is no way I would have been a size 2-4 in the 80s at my current size. I’m 50, I know the sizes today are much bigger than the 70s-80s. Complete size inflation. |

What’s the material of the jacket, OP? If it’s stretchy, I wouldn’t worry about it being too big in other places.
I find the sizing really varies between items, so it pays to read the reviews. I’m an 8 in their bottoms except for a random pair of joggers that run really small, which I only found out from the reviews. I need to size up on top because I have broad shoulders, but that’s pretty consistent in most brands for me. So, for me they’re TTS except for random odd items. |

Huh. I'd say Lululemon runs pretty true to size, for the most part. I'm a solid 4-6 in most stores (slightly larger in hips/butt/thighs, smaller in my waist)
I'm a 6 in Lulu bottoms, and usually a 4-6 in tops (but own everything from a 2-8 due to how I want certain things to fit). |
| Runs super small and extremely close fitting. An old pair of capri leggings in a size 2 fits my 65 lbs, 4'5" daughter perfectly and even then it's snug on her. She normally wears a girls size 10 Slim. |
Thanks for this tip - loose on the bottom, tight on the top was a pretty consistent complaint about this item! |
Definitely agree to look at reviews. Some of the tops are meant to be very snug. I have the Define jacket in a 10 when normally I wear an 8 (34DD). It is still form fitting but not obnoxiously so. Also, the reviews are very candid and will give you an idea of longevity of the jacket, etc. |

Why is everyone giving their legging sizes when the OP was about fit through the chest? Not every thread is meant for you to brag about how skinny you are.
I actually really like the way LLL tops fit. They are one of the only companies that seems to understand that most women aren't lugging around DDD+ chests. Nothing more infuriating than having to settle for something that fits shoulders / stomach but leaves a gap through the bust large enough to park a 747. |
This is nasty. Those of us who do are DD/DDD don’t have 747s strapped to our chests. Lots of nasty comebacks are on the top of my typing fingers but nope, not stooping to your level. |
OP here. So are you saying I won’t be able to size up in LLL? Because chest size is definitely my problem. |
It’s incredibly rude. I’m a PP who gave my leggings size as an example (I also gave my top size as an example). Moreover, there’s no excuse for you being plain mean about women with larger cup sizes. OP, I’m glad my suggestion to read the reviews was helpful. I always try to leave reviews for the things I buy to pay it forward!
