| When I do squats I always feel it in my quads, not in my butt. Am I doing them wrong? |
| Possibly. You should be squatting as if you're about to sit on a chair and then thrust up with your pelvis and squeeze your butt at the same time. |
Much more nicely put than what I was about to write (and still will)- pretend that you are sitting down to hover over a public toilet. Push your butt out and back so you don't spray the seat. |

Squats should work your butt but they should work your quads too, definitely.
A good way to practice is put an exercise ball behind you on the wall - it forces you to do the movement right and if you have a weak core it protects your back while still really working you. I used to do some extreme squats pre-baby, and now I really prefer them with the ball to protect my back. My core is just not as strong as it used to be despite yoga and pilates! Lunges are also good for butt. Google curtsy lunge - and prepare to wake up in pain the next morning! Walking lunges are great too. |
| You should feel them in both. And don't let your knees extend over your toes. Both your knees and your hips should be at 90 degrees. |
This. And legs no wider than shoulder width apart. |
