Our child's daycare in Bethesda has had two covid incidences which resulted in a shutdown of the entire daycare once (there were several cases) and a shutdown of just a classroom once (based off of one case) since September. I know that the likelihood of this happening is high but am curious to see if other daycares are experiencing this also. |
Yes. Two cases, one adult and one child (in SE DC, open since July). |
Yes, two cases, both teachers. |
None in our Rockville daycare since it reopened in August |
Yep. Two shutdowns. Second one happened last night. Taking infant to be tested in an hour. Fun times. |
Yes, just this week. One teacher, one 3 year old in the same classroom. They've shut down. |
I am the OP and I appreciate everyone responding. Gives me a reality check for expectations. |
Twice, the first time center closed for two weeks out of an abundance of caution. The second time only one class shut down for two weeks. I will add daycare has been open throughout the pandemic and both incidences occurred last month. |
No, but we're in a small home daycare |
Yes - four teachers, two children. Three different classrooms that don’t mix. |
Yes, three friends have had their daycares shut down. Two couples got COVID from their child in daycare. |
Yes. 4 teachers and one 2yo over the course of the past 7 months (reopened in May). Unrelated cases, traced to exposures outside of daycare (all 5 caught it from family members). No evidence of spread within the daycare. Individual classes were quarantined as necessary.
Older DD’s class has had to quarantine once and younger DD’s class has been quarantined twice. We’ve had them tested each time (negative PCRs at 8 days after exposure). |
I should have mentioned at this place, one of the children had it first and gave it to a teacher. One teacher got it from outside of daycare. One teacher gave it to her co-teacher and to one child. |
Yes 3 teachers have |
I’m in Falls Church and our daycare center has not had a case. They have been open since June. |
