It seems like there has been plenty of chatter about egg freezing with Dr. Frankfurter over the years. Does anyone who has worked with him more frequently happen to have BCBS federal/have a realistic idea of what everything ended up costing?
Similarly, were there options for payment plans, etc., or did you have to come up with everything at once? I've only done the preliminary bloodwork/appointments, and am trying to decide if I want to go forward with freezing eggs for future use. I've got a call with the financial counselor scheduled for next week, but just wanted to get some background information and start thinking about the questions I should be asking as I start to move forward. I'd certainly also be appreciative if there is anything else I should be considering/questions I should be asking before moving forward (financial or otherwise). I'm 33 and single w/ no prospects on the horizon (covid is really throwing a wrench in my dating life!), so this seems like a sensible (albeit, expensive) option for peace of mind (I'm well aware that IVF is far from a guarantee, but I feel like this would make me feel like I'm doing everything in my power to set myself up to have a family down the road). I'm a little nervous men will find it odd that I went this route (I obviously wouldn't share until I was in a relationship with someone), but I also kind of like the idea of potentially being able to use them solo in a few years if that ends up being my path. |
