My kids are bopping around from sport to sport. Is there a source for gently used equipment (hockey, lacrosse, boxing) so that I'm not spending an arm and a leg before their interest is solidified? Thanks.
Play it Again sports - I think there is one in northern VA, but it might be out by Leesburg area.
Replay sports in Rockville is great. And the owners are very helpful.
Google and sometimes you can find new cheaper than used. Or, the buy nothing groups or other used gear.
+1 |
Replay Sports is good but be prepared to spend longer in the store than you think - owners are helpful and very chatty. Definitely not a quick in and out. Play it again in Columbia is also a good source.
I guess this online store https://tenthsports.co.za has used sports equipment. Have a look |
Join your local Buy Nothing group. People with older kids are always looking to give stuff away.
It is. Good place to sell and buy used equipment. |
I usually see decent sports equipment at local goodwill stores. Last year I bought a leather baseball glove for about $7!
Our local FB Marketplace has seasonal influx of sports gear, uniforms, etc.
If your town has a Buy Nothing Facebook group, you’ll likely find some people giving sports equipment away
We’ve bought and sold at Play It Again in leesburg. Good experience
Sideline Swap
Agree with all of the above. Also check to see if there is a local Facebook group for that sport. We follow a local youth baseball FB group and that is usually where we buy our kids’ bats (used) and sell the old ones. Saves quite a bit of money, and many of them were barely even used before they were outgrown.
