| Has anyone been? Is it worth the money without live instruction? How do you follow the workout? Did the safety precautions seem appropriate? |
| There is live instruction. It’s a regular class just with the option to do your own thing. Just a way to get around the shit down of classes, really. |
+1 A lot of fitness studios are doing this. They’re getting around the restrictions on a technicality. If you were fretting about COVID before, it’s the same thing as always just with a different title |
So there is music and the instructor is walking around talking into a mic and I can follow that or just be on my own doing Bulgarian split squats while everyone else is doing army crawls? |
This sounds ridiculous |
Agree. I wonder if anyone is going. |
| The idea that fitness studios in small enclosed spaces can operate but my kids can’t go to school is just too much. |
I was a solidcore die-hard pre-COVID, but yeah, this. |
| Why are people continuing to give that horrible woman money? |
+1000 She's the devil |
Yes, you can do whatever you want. But everyone in the class I went to followed along w the coach. It was just like a regular class (with fewer people although it was “full”). |

The number of gyms doing this or similar, to get around the actual goal of the shutdown order is gross. Imagine how people would/will react if, after indoor dining is shut down on the 23rd, a restaurant says they are offering take-out only but allows patrons waiting for take out to sit down at tables, and hey, while you're sitting, do you want a drink or an appetizer? It would be illegal and rightly shut down.
I'm not as worried about Covid spread at gyms as I am about indoor dining because people can wear masks at gyms, but I do think that if we are going to do these shut downs for public health because of spiking cases, you should have to comply. Every person or company that thinks they can get away with "bending" the rules is taxing the entire system and making it more likely that the shutdowns will continue for longer and that cases will continue to rise. |
This is why I quit. They are willfully breaking the law. |
It really bothers me too. It will be hard for me to go back and I have over 300 classes. If it was really “open studio” and not just a front for a class, I’d be ok with them doing it, but I’m disappointed by the lying. |
Yes, same here. |
