TPES magnet programs-a few questions

We're considering applying to TPES for our child for next fall, but have a few questions-

Is there a pre-K at Takoma Park? Is it a privately run pre-K that uses space at TPES, or is it run by MCPS? Our child has a sibling so we were wondering if it was possible to send them to the same school.
On another thread I read that there are 125 spots in the magnet program but I'm wondering how many are available for out of boundary kids. Also wondering how many out of boundary kids apply for those spots.

The YMCA runs a before- and after-care at TPMS, but I don't believe it's pre-K.

There is no pre-K program at TPES. There used to be a daycare that wasn't affiliated with the school but used a building there. However, it closed when the school began undergoing renovations.

I suspect the 125 number you saw was in regard to the Takoma Park Middle School Science and Math magnet, not the TPES magnet. There are only about 150 students in the entire first grade. (TPES is a K-2 school.)

There are more in-boundary spots than out-of-boundary, I believe. Admission is quite competitive, from what I understand. I would call the school with specific questions.
