| Any others anxiously waiting to hear back this evening? |
My daughter's best friend got a yes! Lots of excitement when they were just facetiming! Good luck to your DC!!
|
| DD got rejected. It was a reach for sure but one can dream. Now we need to quickly pivot and see whether DD wants to do an ED2. With the unprecedented high numbers of ED1 applications, the writing on the wall for sky high numbers for regular decisions (including all the deferrals from ED1) is there for us to see. |
| My junior thinks Northwestern is very high on her list - would love to hear what other colleges your kids like. |
| Funny enough, as soon as I posted this, they announced the results! So, so, so ecstatic that my DC got into Northwestern! She's over the moon right now. So sorry to hear about the rejection in this thread, but I am sure there will be great news down the line for you and your DD. |
Off the top of my head, some other schools my kid was considering were Michigan, Columbia, UPenn, Vanderbilt, Emerson, BU, Johns Hopkins, and Georgetown. But very lucky we won't have to worry about RD apps now she's in ED! Northwestern has been DC's dream school since sophomore year of high school. |
High on our list as well for next year. Did anyone apply for the college of engineering? |
Mine’s a sophomore studying ECE at Northwestern. We love the program and highly recommend it! |
Great to hear. Any idea how admissions for engineering compares to rest of undergrad? Harder? Easier? Same? |
| Hi stats kid, also interested in D1 sports. Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Duke, U of MI, and U of MD because instate. |
From what I've heard admissions is pretty consistent across schools, so it's hard to say whether it's harder or easer. Good luck! |
Yes a lot of overlap with Duke and Penn from what I've seen. Very similar schools in some respects. |
