Snowy Sidewalks and School Safety

Anonymous
Hi -
My name is Jessica and I'm a reporter for The Current. I'm wondering if anyone here has experienced unsafe conditions getting to school following the last two snow storms. If you'd like to share your views on the situation, give me a call at (202) 465-0179.
Best,
Jessica

Driving out of my alley is easily the most dangerous part of the trip...

I agree with this -- my son's at CCPCS, and it's really challenging.

I'll just say I hate journalism that asks for support for the thesis the journalist has already determined. IE, it's unsafe for kids to go to school with all the snowy sidewalks, so can you help me find examples? What about asking this not pre-determined question: any stories of how the snow has or has not impacted getting to school? Or, is the snow still a problem anyplace?

FWIW - 15th/16th and Irving was horrible, thanks to melting it's now just a slight hassle. And unclear who is responsible, really. Would be nice if the condo building shoveled not just sidewalks but a clear path to the intersection at the SW quadrant. The Cap City corner was probably the best of the bunch.
