| Any gyms changing things up starting tomorrow? I saw something in the governor order about 10 people in group classes. Doesn’t say masks while working out but mask use supposed to more strict now. |
|
"Masks while working out" is not a VA rule. Some gyms/fitness places may require it, but it is not part of the governor's order. There are specific, clear exemptions for exercise.
ALL studios/classes can only have max 10 people, including the instructor. No matter how large the space. I think this is stupid, because some places have rooms larger than an entire trader joe's, but K will mow you down with her cart and then climb all over you at TJs to get seaweed. |
| A lot of Orangetheory studios are going to “open gym” status. I can’t figure out why since it’s not mandated. The only thing I can think is that if they stay a class they have to have 9 people. Open gyms could allow up to 15 depending on the studios size. |
This makes no sense to me. The gym I have has class studios 2x the size of an Orange Theory, but they can only have 9 people (10 including instructor), but OTF can have 15 people in their small space as an "open gym?!" This is so stupid. They should go according to a percentage of capacity, not arbitrary class sizes. Same for malls, Targets, grocery stores, etc. There's no need for you and your partner to grocery shop together, or go to Target as a family. |
This. Same for churches, etc. |
| Seriously. Don’t go. My friend with Covid was back in the gym 9 days after diagnosis. Her housemate was there the next day even though was still in the quarantine period. |
| Which gym? Did you call them? |
| close to 100% that 9 days after diagnosis not contagious. |
No, I didn’t call them. I figure if people are willing to risk going to the gym then they are aware that people with Covid could be there. |
