Infertility Support and Discussion
| After the first positive, or the last positive? |
| No way to know. In fact, you may not have ovulated at this point. Temps are the only real way to tell without b/w and/or an u/s. |
| OP here- I did ovulate- I got a BFP! Trying to figure out how far along I am. |
| Well, congratulations. But really, it doesn't matter which day you ovulated, because prenancy isn't that precise. Just pick the middle day and go with that. |
| Thanks for the replies. But if someone does know whether a consecutive positive OPK over several days would indicate an earlier (after the first postitive) or a later ovulation (after the lats positive), please weigh in. For medical/timing reasons, it will really be helpful to know the more precise date. Thanks in advance. |
| Noone can possibly know this. There is absolutely NO reason why a day one way or the other can possibly make any difference, medically or not. Just enjoy, ok? |

From fertilityfriend.com:
OPKs tell you that ovulation is likely imminent and you are most fertile. In most cases, ovulation soon follows after a positive OPK result. A positive OPK result, however, does not indicate ovulation with certainty, nor does it pinpoint your ovulation day to within a narrow timeframe. Only your temperature sign which reflects a rise of progesterone after ovulation, will confirm and pinpoint ovulation for you. A day or two on one side or the other shouldn't matter at this point. Wait for u/s to see if timing syncs up. |
| My kit has always said that you'll ovulate 12 - 36 hours after the first test (depending on when exactly you test). However, then the egg can live for 24 hours.... |
OP here- this is really helpful. Thank you so much! |
