AAP and honer classes Longfellow MS

Do they cover same material? If not what is the difference ? Please share your experience,

Regarding math, the only thing I know for sure is that Vern Williams' math classes were much more challenging than any other math classes there while he was teaching at Longfellow. Now that he left the school, I have no idea if it's still like that. Probably not, since I have not heard talk of anyone continuing to follow in his footsteps.

Longfellow is an Honors MS there are no “GE” classrooms. Everything is either called AAP or Honors. Excluding math, as it is a completely different track. Previous ES AAP students typically take Math 7 Honors or Algebra in 7th and either Algebra Honors or Geometry. I had one in AAP and 1 in Honors(regular for non AAP). Aside from being separated into AAP classrooms and Honors classrooms there was no difference for ELA, History/Civics, and Sciences. Most ELA classes had same or similar books for reading, all the rest had same projects tests etc. my kids were on the same team and studied and worked together with friends who were also on same team in AAP classes and Honors. The tests were even the same. I would say the one difference that sometimes occurred was that occasionally AAP projects/papers were due a few days before the Honors classes and AAP could have been a bit harder on grading with certain projects. There was no substantial difference. It was a breath of fresh air, finally. My kids felt equal. They both had the same assignments and the hard work they did on them paid off.
