Alexandria's Futsal program will be played outside this Winter.

McLean Youth Soccer and Vienna Youth Soccer have outdoor rec leagues.

They few that I have seen that have outdoor leagues were:

Alexandria Futsal playing outdoors - Team or individual
Vienna Soccer
Soccer Fiesta - South Run Field House - Teams
LMVSC - Teams
Bethesda Futsal Outdoor - Team or Individual

All I could find if anyone else knows of others feel free to add

PAC is hosting a Winter outdoor league. www.premierac.org

kind of dumb that all of these clubs are organizing their own league versus getting together and having one centralized league. It would take a bit of coordination but it wouldn't be the end of the world. They are already reaching out to each other to get others to join. Surprised a league like NCSL didn't take advantage of this opportunity to organize it. They could have organized it by region where the travel to another club's home field wouldn't have been more than a 20 minute ride. oh well.

I'm not in the business of putting a league together but there would be a lot more teams in every age group if it was centralized versus a club getting a few teams and another club getting a few other teams.

Why would that be dumb? Plenty of people choose rec leagues with local games for their kids.

It's not the end of the world to travel 20 minutes for a game, but if it means my kids spend more time traveling than playing it's a waste of time and environmentally unfriendly.

Putting these programs together will not work. Some will not be able to travel from state to state at this time. Also money is to be made and these guys are not sharing that.

It's a winter league. Last thing I want to do is travel in the winter weather to another city >60 minutes to play an essentially meaningless game in the cold.

Local matches are fine for a few months.

so it would be smarter to play more teams from a wider population demographic and enhance covid exposure/spread opportunity?

I said 20 minutes, how much wider of a demographic is that? That region could be Arlington, McLean, PAC, Alexandria, LMVSC, Villareal, SYC as an example. If each one of those clubs hosts it, participation is going to be limited to their own teams plus maybe another club or two at best. Well for that you might as well set-up scrimmages for your teams instead of paying $$$ to play the same teams over and over again. I just said, have one centralized organizer to bring everyone together.
