Shocked to find out I’m having twins

Anonymous
BTDT parents, help me out! Conceived twins naturally, no family history. Found out at my NT scan today. I’m in my early 30s and have a 4 year old. I’m honestly so beyond surprised that I don’t know where to begin.
What do I need to know? What helped you? I’d love any advice about ANYTHING - books you read, gear you loved, where and how you delivered, pregnancy complications, sleep advice, etc. I never expected a thing like this to happen so I’m starting from zero here. TIA!

Same thing happened to me. Congrats! I joined a local twins group, and it was a lifesaver. Northern Virginia Parents of Multiples and Fairfax County Mothers of Multiples. They answered all my zillions of questions.

Join NVPOM, so many families with such great advice (many with older kids too). And great socials, etc. in normal times. But it's worth it just for the FB group advice IMO.

Lucky you - although it's going to be hectic for some time...
Congratulations, OP. Please stay safe during this pandemic.

Congrats OP, I'm sure you'll get lots of advice

I was pregnant with my twins during the H1N1 outbreak. Around the 5th month, I realized the pregnancy was making it difficult for me to breathe. Nothing scary, but definitely I felt like I had less lung capacity. I really didn't want to get H1N1 because I knew I would be in serious trouble if I got sick beyond just being pregnant.

Please be extreme in your precautions during this time.

Best wishes

Love my twins, same story
Found those twin moms groups HIGHLY stressful and full of (not entirely - but very many) anxious and high risk pregnancies that I had to stop reading them
My twins were full term, healthy, changed our life completely and are wonderful almost 10 years out here.

How exciting!! Twins run rampant in my family tree and I was always a bit sad they missed me.

Same dream here. Not planning on kids for another 2 years but I'd love to get twins for the cuteness and to get a 'larger' family started sooner rather than later.
