Why are rich people in this area so cheap?

Get so many hagglers on Craigslist yet you know they all got money.

I’m a rich person in this area who doesn’t haggle. I also don’t use Craigslist. I think it’s your audience...

Rich people are often cheap. That is one of the reasons some of them are rich.

I know many rich people, and I’ve never heard any of them talk about dealing with strangers to buy something on Craigslist.

I would actually call people who haggle smart, not cheap. If wealthy people haggle, it's because they want to remain wealthy. Stupid people pay retail and don't bargain for a deal.

Not being retail, sure. But haggling is unnecessary. I don’t because of how I source.

I’m not rich but people always think I am because I’m pretty and have good taste.

I hate selling on Craigslist because of the haggling. But when I do use Craigslist to sell, I always write FIRM next to the price to discourage haggling. I honestly believe that some people on Craigslist haggle and buy stuff they probably don't need for entertainment or psychological reasons. It's like a form of gambling. They get some kind of high out of scoring a "deal." I personally think it's tacky and never haggle myself.

And then there's the folks who never shop up after making an appointment with you or write "Interested" but never follow up...

I’m rich and people rarely think I am because I’m from the PacNW and dress like it. But what does that have to do with the price of tea on Craigslist?

I don't buy off Craig's List but I buy a lot of my clothes at consignment shops or on used clothes websites or on Ebay where I also sell things. It's a sport! I love having a nice wardrobe but only paying 20%. It's not cheap, it's smart. I'd rather fly first class wearing an Armani blazer I spent $100 on than wearing a $1,000 blazer and flying in coach.

Rich people don't sell things on craigslist. I don't consider myself rich but if something is under $500 I throw it away.

What does this have to do with anything

Because they spend too much time on DCUM.
Because they aren't really rich. You are not really rich if your money come from being cheap.

Ew, never buy tea off Craigslist!

People on Craigslist are cheap. It's why they're on Craigslist!

(I love Craigslist, but I am cheap.)
