Pardon my ignorance- how to clean wool scarves?

Anonymous
Uh - do I have to get them dry cleaned? I don't think I've EVER had a scarf cleaned. Some of them are so inexpensive - less than 10 bucks on sale - do you pay to have these cleaned? Please enlighten me.

If it's cheap and no big deal if it does get ruined, try hand washing. I have a nice one that I do get dry cleaned though.

hand wash with Woolite and dry flat on a sweater dryer. I think it's cleaner than drycleaning. Also, I don't like the thought of putting chemically treated clothing touching my skin.
