| I have not been to a Costco since February. My rewards certificate came in March. It’s a few hundred dollars that I don’t want to lose, but I really don’t want to go to Costco at Christmas either. Anyone had any luck getting the certificate expiration date extended? |
| We went to Costco the week before Thanksgiving because our certificate was $2k. We hadn't been since February. |
| We’ve got $1400 on our certificate. I think we are going to go midweek this week. If it’s too crowded we will just get the cash at the customer service desk and leave. You don’t need to actually apply it to a purchase. |
I didn’t realize you could cash it out! |
| Thank you. That's what I was afraid of. Such a bummer. |
| They have extended mine after it expired (in fact once I was checking out and then didn’t let me leave until they ordered me a new check, I didn’t even say anything about it) you probably want to call. |
| You can use it to shop online too. |
From what I’ve read, you can’t. You can turn it into a cash card, but I still have to go in to do that. I’ll try calling. Thank you. |

We have more than $4 K on it. We were shocked.
I have been using my membership card to shop for a local charity that I volunteer for and for a lot of my neighbors and family since March. I was doing this so that fewer people need to go outside. Anyways, I will be donating food and hygiene products with the extra money so I am very happy. |
| Do you have to be executive member to get cash back? |
Yes |
There are two kinds of certificates. The first is the executive membership rebate which is 2% of eligible purchases. The second is the rebate certificate from the Citi Costco Visa card which is 1-4% of eligible purchases. |
I'm the $1400 poster above and we have the Citi Visa card. The credit card fee includes the membership. I don't know what the card fee is these days - I think it's around the same price as the regular Costco membership. The cash cards must be new this year. We always have pretty high rewards amounts and they have always given us cash back if we are over the purchase amount. We've gotten as much as $1000 back in cash. I'd actually prefer a cash card because I always feel a little uncomfortable walking out of Costco with $1000 cash. |
I'd go at 7:50 am (confirm that the store opens at 8am for seniors/compromised shoppers). At least the Sterling location has a separate entrance for customer service, right at the entrance. So you're really in at out with minimal interactions. |
| I received my Costco Executive reward certificate today and it's enough to cover the renewal fee of my membership, which happens to be due right now. Does anyone know if I can apply the certificate dircetly to the renewal fee? |
