So, so sad. As a parent I cannot even imagine this, and I’m giving my kids a tight hug tonight. I appreciate every day I have with them.



Our sadness shouldn’t impact our resolve to identify this problem and fix it. There are lots of reasons for gun violence, but one is an easy fix: gun control.
And DC overwhelmingly wants tighter gun rules, and Antonin Scalia and four Republican judges took away our gun control laws because gun identity politics are useful to get votes for the Republican Party nationwide.

Thanks, Scalia. You weren’t the only reason, but your decision in Heller helped increase guns in DC and helped get this kid killed.

The article towards the end focuses on "illegal" firearms, so is there evidence this crime was committed with a legally-purchased firearm and used by a registered gun owner?

I don't blame the SC for this. If you want gun control (and I sure do), we need to pass a constitutional amendment.
