Hingham is swankaroo.

I like Westlake Village California too - but it's very different than the east coast suburbs.

Wilmette, IL. Gorgeous old homes on tree lined streets (some brick). Cute, cute walkable downtown with a train station to the Chicago loop. (<30 minute commute.) Amazing schools.

I am partial to the Palos Verdes peninsula area. You cannot beat the hilly-with-ocean-views.

Chicago has some truly great burbs. I also nominate Glenview.

Whitefish Bay; what makes it especially nice is that while it's definitely got pockets of $$$$$$ it's still pretty accessible to more normal income families.

Basically this. i was going to sat Winnetka. Nicest suburbs in the entire country.
