Much sicker with 3rd pregnancy?

Anonymous
I'm pg with our third and the first two pregnancies were remarkably easy on me. No nausea in the first at all and only a few times in the second. This third kid is kicking my butt! I feel awful! Each night from about 6 pm onward I feel so sick. And this is exactly when I'm feeding our two kids, playing, doing baths, etc. I get the little one to bed and then I try to convince the 4 yo to watch the olympics or play a board game with me while I lay on the floor....

I've tried snacking on things while the kids eat, drinking a lot, etc. but I just can't ward it off. And don't ask me how many times I've skipped my vitamin, which definitely makes things worse. (I took it the other night right before bed and 20 minutes later had to make DH get up to get me the triscuits....nothing like having bedspins when you haven't been drinking!)

I'm 38. Is this just what happens as we get older? Am i forgetting to do something really obvious because I haven't dealt with "morning" sickness before? I'm 7 weeks and this has been going on for about 2 weeks now, so any advice would be most appreciated!

Ask your doctor for Zofran. It's safe and works like a charm. I took it with all three of my pregnancies.

I'm preggo with #3 as well and yes, I was much sicker with this one than my other 2. Even worse is that my DH is used to my pregnancies going great, so it has been a struggle getting him to step up and let me rest. That said, I started feeling a lot better at around 16 weeks. In the meantime, I did the best I could (and that meant that my almost 5 yo has gotten addicted to "Ben 10" and certain other cartoons that I probably never would have let him watch). Luckily my 2yo is a dream and will entertain himself...
