| Anyone else find it almost impossible to log in to place an order with the Takoma Park Silver Spring Co Op? It seriously takes me close to an hour each time, including my multiple attempts at logging in plus 20 minutes of being shut out for too many attempts. I usually don't have to write down passwords but I do with them because this happens so many times, so I'm sure the password is correct. It's so frustrating. It's impossible to add spur of the moment ideas to the cart. Every time I try to shop there, I'm ready to just give up. Anyone else have this problem? |
| I no longer live in takoma, but frankly it sounds about right. Service there and at nearby restaurants was always slow, so why wouldn’t the online ordering be?! All joking aside, that sounds frustrating! |
| I'm sorry to say I gave up on shopping with them during the pandemic because I found their process so cumbersome. When it was order-in-advance only, it was a complete disaster because they seemed to have no control over their inventory, and when they started allowing in-person shopping, waiting outside in a long line was too much hassle when other stores of similar size managed to get people in in reasonable, distanced numbers without huge waits. I hope they survive, but I'm not going to jump through the hoops when there are other options. |

I have had absolutely no difficulty logging on and placing an order. They are sometimes out of things, but overall have had good luck for what they carry. There are certain items I just don’t buy there because the quality is poor and there are things I need which they don’t carry. I shop for those items elsewhere.
I have found them very responsive when I email with a suggestion or complaint. |

Years later from when this thread was started. "TPSS Co-op Sets November 6 2024 Reopening After Summer Remodel. The co-op’s 12-week renovation, which began on July 5, includes a new layout, energy-efficient upgrades, expanded product offerings from local vendors, and package-free produce. Other changes during the renovation include redoing the flooring to prevent runaway carts, relocating the registers to avoid checkout lines backing up into the aisles, fully replacing the HVAC equipment, upgrading the restrooms, and replacing the electrical system." |
How timely. The day after election. |
| Have you visited after it reopened? Better than before? |
| If you buy wine from here, how is it? |
They have a pretty good selection of wines, and many are local. Lot of local craft beers, too. The prices are decent, but you're probably not going to find a lot of steals and super deals. No two-buck chuck type wines, last I looked, but a few that are inexpensive enough to use for table/cooking without feeling like you're wasting them, while still being nice to drink. |

If you buy 6+ bottles, you get an additional 10% off. Combine that with your 10% monthly discount and you’re getting a decent deal.
There is (was?) a French wine guy who works there and is willing to offer wine advice. |
