Best very warm but not bulky winter jacket

| Boys ages 10 and 11 need new jackets. They requested “not bulky” but they need to be very warm for skiing and other activities. Suggestions? |

| I'd look at Lands End, especially with the sale they have going on. If it's for skiing, the key is adequate layering rather than your main jacket. |

| I would get them a ski jacket, and then just a full zip hoodie or fleece. IME as the mom of two teen boys, they almost never wear a jacket except hoodies, so the warm jacket I get them for skiing can be of a bulkier nature (otherwise, I’d get them patagonia nano jackets since those are warm and no bulk- but not waterproof for skiing). |
