Isn't he attending Kirk's semi-state funeral?

He said he would. Who knows though? He might play golf.

I’m sure it’s going to be the JD show. Trump will sit there and pretend to pay attention. I bet Melania will be pissed about having to drag herself to Phoenix so soon after getting home from London. Has she ever even been to Arizona? I’m sure she’s like “where?”

Does anyone else find it hilarious how our esteemed VP so desperately tries to hang on to anything or anyone that can reflect back some charisma on him?

He wrote his Hillbilly book as a sort of tortured "belonging but not belonging" origin story. He converted to Catholicism, because he's always looking for something bigger than himself and there is no other White Man's religion that has as much pomp and gilded circumstance as the Catholic Church. He loathes Trump and sees him for what he is, but he's willing to be his bullier-in-chief (Zelensky meeting) and general factotum in exchange for the lustre of the White House. And he has completely glommed on to Mr. Kirk's aura. The second lady must needs hold Mrs. Kirk's hand as she goes down Airforce 2. I am quite sure Erika hates holding hands like this. She pushed her husband to a position of great influence on the very traditional right and is perfectly able to hold her own at this time.

The man is transparent. He is so deeply insecure.

Did you know that evangelicals and other "christians" do not like catholics? They think catholics are not christian. It's off topic, but makes me feel better about what will happen if trump is unable to finish his term.

I try explaining this to my devout Catholic MAGA relatives, and they can't seem to accept that the Evangelicals look down on them and will eventually find a way to go after them as well. Falls on deaf ears.

Don’t your MAGA Catholic relatives look down on evangelicals? I’ve been out of the church for a long time but I didn’t think the church had any respect for the televangelist crowd. Maybe the common desire to punish women for having sex brought them together?

There seem to be an awful lot of Catholics actually part of, maybe not MAGA (those are the minions) but among the overlords.

From the Catholic Register back in Feb:
February 13, 2025
Before entering his confirmation hearing on Capitol Hill, Sean Duffy gathered in the hallway with his family — which includes nine children — and led them in praying a Hail Mary. He was later confirmed as secretary of transportation.

Duffy is not the only Catholic among President Donald Trump's proposed advisers. If all of his nominees are confirmed, Trump's Cabinet would be comparable to what has been called the most Catholic Cabinet in history — his predecessor Joe Biden's.

More than a third of Trump's nominees are Catholic. Three — Duffy, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and CIA Director John Ratcliffe — have already been confirmed by the U.S. Senate. One, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., is among the most controversial choices.

Don't know if this will be readable:

O/T but Noem is the only Pentecostal in the bunch. I had no idea.

Pentecostals are the ones who speak in tongues. I wanna see that happen.

Why are so many Catholics ignoring the Pope?

I think evangelicals are fine with this new kind of trad Catholics, the kind that call themselves "fewer and truer" and regular Catholics don't relate to at all.

They still think they are going to Hell as papist idolators but they are happy to use them for a means to an end on this earth. They feel the same way about Jews and Israel. Their attitude is basically “we have so much in common, it’s a shame they are going to burn in eternal damnation.”

I live in the Bible Belt; I am Catholic and I get on with my many evangelical neighbors just fine. They are good people striving to live good Christian lives and by and large they just do so many things that enrich this community, whether that’s youth sports and activities, food and clothing charity, regional disaster relief you name it.

I think Trump remains very robust for his age but of course he’s not immune.

I am also glad to observe that AOC seems to be addressing her weight problem. Hopefully she can get her figure back.

Why don't you post your picture? I want to see your figure.

Feeling frisky?

AOC has made “they want to date me” part of her brand. And Mace and Luna need a little competition. I am pulling for AOC!

I love how you started off with good Christians helping the community, then the mask immediately came off to reveal the judgmental misogyny underneath.

It’s 100% misogyny. Trump is “very robust” while AOC has “a weight problem”.

Yes, well the duality of man. Both are true.

Evangelicals and Baptist also speak in tongues.

You live in the Bible Belt but you’re posting on a DC-based message board early in the morning? Life must be pretty boring where you are.

Trump has a severe weight problem, in case you hadn’t noticed. He’s morbidly obese. Call it what it is and stop trying to hide behind cute double-standard phrases.
