Reading this site it sounds like YY and Basis have opened for certain populations and that Truth is open on a hybrid basis?
Is that right? Are their others? |
Basis has no in-person instruction. They have limited on-site support (similar to the proposed CARE classrooms). I don’t believe demand has been particularly great. |
Right, but it's an option. I think this is the situation at YY as well. |
About 50-60% of charters have some kind of in-person programming. Most look like CARES but not all. Most are small groups of kids. You can see the list at this link: https://dcpcsb.org/public-charter-schools-reopening-update. |
Ah! Thanks. |
yes, Basis is Cares classrooms only. No in-person instruction. They haven't had a ton of interest because I know they opened up the opportunity to kids beyond those of first responders, etc. |
How can this be? It sounds like none of the charters are doing in-person but no one but MV has a union? I am so confused. Can someone please explain how the WTU is keeping charters closed as well. I'll wait. |
Charters are open. Where have you been? While you are waiting perhaps read the earlier post that links to the open charters? Or maybe the facts don't matter to you. |
EL Haynes is fully virtual. They started some in-person play activities and SPED and ELL this week, but very, very limited. No CARES classes. |
Truth was open for a small population until a few weeks ago. They were never hybrid. They are now 100% virtual. |
Yeah, PPP that's the point. Lots of charters are open in different forms. |
For actual live instruction? Name one please. |
The problem is the charters are following bumbling DCPS which will never ever open this year except for CARES classrooms. |
But charters are so much better, right? |
Truth. |
