| Hi, I was wondering what good EC, stats, are for a student that really wants to go to Boston College for marketing/communications? Thank you! |
|
Marketing is in the school of management, which may be slightly more competitive than the overall stats, although you can minor in the school of management with a major in arts & sciences.
Handy tip: google the stats you are seeking. As is typical, you can find the admission stats for the college on their website with a quick google of college name and class profile. https://www.bc.edu/bc-web/admission/apply/admission-statistics.html |
| OP, it is highly competitive. Look at your high school’s scattergram. |
| Apply communications, it is easier to get in |
| Communications is in the arts and science school, so if interested in business classes not a good idea. You’ll need to apply to the business school for matketing |
Be a swimmer. They take swimmers with any stats. |
| It is no problem to major in communications in arts & sciences and minor in marketing in CSOM. The number of courses in the marketing minor is very similar to the number in the marketing concentration that CSOM students would take. (The difference between being a student with a major in arts & sciences vs csom is the business core required by CSOM.) |
| There are six minors in the business school that are available to arts & sciences students https://www.bc.edu/bc-web/schools/carroll-school/undergraduate/academics/minors.html. They are wide open, the student just signs up when they are ready to declare the minor. |
One would assume you need to be a fast swimmer, not just a swimmer. |
| Apply ED 1 or 2 to increase odds of admission, |
BC is looking for swimmers. I don't know how fast one has to be, but I do know that they are looking for swimmers. |
You have mentioned this on several threads. |
